Notes Making a wrong handoff visible

Making a wrong handoff visible

People don't argue with the wrong agent. They leave.

Most agent experiences are linear. A general agent figures out what you want and passes you to a domain agent. If that handoff is wrong, people don't argue. They leave.

At work that means

  • Show which agent has it. The person can see who is handling the request right now.
  • Let them redirect. We're still working on the agent catching its own mistake. Until then, a visible handoff is better than a silent reroute.
  • Log the miss. Every redirect is a real number for how often routing fails.

The person reports a monitor that will not turn on, sees Catalog has it, switches it to IT, and the misroute is logged.
